Are Lifesaving Lessons Realistic?

May 16th, 2012

Lifesaving is a sport for everyone and a lot more fun than swimming up and down. It is a valuable community skill that could save lives.

But many lifesaving clubs focus on competitions or passing exams rather than training for real life survival. The pool water is warm and clear, no wind, no waves, no sunburn, everyone just in swim wear. Life is easy!

The real world is very different. The weather can be hot or cold or windy. You will come across currents, waves, murky water, and obstacles. In case of emergency will you have time to change into your swimming costume? Did you bring your flippers and floats? Most lifesaving classes don't prepare you for a real situation.

The Free Lifesaving Society intends to change this by bringing you training materials that help you run a realistic lifesaving and survival swimming class.

Hooded Stingersuits

May 15th, 2012

Stingersuits are probably the most comfortable swimwear you can get, a great outfit for cool, warm and hot climates. Better yet they protect you from the sun's rays as well as jellyfish.

Hooded stingersuits are most sought after because the build-in hood fits better than add-on hoods. Hoods are essential for snorkeling and swimming to protect neck and ears and thus prevent sunburn and nasty scars from jellyfish. It doesn't come undone when you're swimming.

The hood of your swimsuit should fit well, not obstruct your vision. It must move with your head when you turn to the side. Make sure the hood stays out of your snorkel mask's face seal, or it will leak.

Read the Test Review by the Swimwear Guide team for more details.
Ecostinger is now shipping hooded suits worldwide from the USA.
